ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"Some of my great passions in life are painting, photography and graphic design. I believe that art broadens one's view of the world. Experiencing work from other cultures, meeting people from other communities and other countries and seeing the beauty, and sometimes ugliness, of the world has helped me understand that all of our lives can be so similar but so different at the same time. It has made me better appreciate my own home and culture as well as that of the people I've met and I have become a much more tolerant person as a result. I seek to share captured images through the medium of digital photography in much the same way that other artists seek to evoke feelings and reactions through their respective media.My work depicts a love of composition that draws the eye to the interplay of light, color and shadow. Through my photography I seek to document my own personal experiences, to capture scenes and events as I see them and to share with others the beauty and diversity of the world through my eyes. As the images of other photographers have inspired me to explore the world, I hope my own contributions will inspire others to do the same."

James is a native of Orange Beach, AL and moved to Mobile in 1999 to attend the University of South Alabama. There he studied fine art and concentrated in graphic design and painting. During the course of his studies, James managed to move all over the country and created a large network of artisans that quite literally spans from coast to coast. This network has proved to be a priceless asset to the success of his endeavors.

With over 17 years of experience as an artist, James has a vast amount of creative energy behind him. In 2004 he began working as a Real Estate photographer and has produced some spectacular images. His talents have also been used to create works for aspiring models, wedding ceremonies and simply for arts sake. After serving one of the areas only virtual tour providers for over two years, James jumped on an opportunity to create a multi service operation that offers various types of photography and design services.
AD Photography ⁄ Graphic Design, LLC. was established in 2006 by James L. Avera. It originally served as a freelance business but now services the photography and design needs of clients throughout the country.
